Mesodiadema

Echinoidea - Cidaroida

Discussion

This is possibly a duplicate genus entry of Mesodiadema (taxon 32875) in Sepkoski's Compendium, but leaving them separate for now given widespread recognition in the literature (e.g., Smith, 2000; Kroh, 2011) that these forms are likely a different genus than the other forms.

Taxonomy
Mesodiadema was named by Neumayr (1889) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Ladi-u Tr Carn-l Sepkoski's reference number: 801]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Cidaroida by Sepkoski (2002).
