Taxonomy
Bombacacidites psilatus was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Type locality: La Regadera Creek near La Donjuana. PaleoDB number 29080.
Paratypes: UFP 83, 16.7 x 90.8; UFP 82, 11.4 x 97.4.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 53, 18.5 x 110, a microspore (Pollen grain).
