Taxonomy
Bombacacidites gonzalezii was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Type locality: Piñalerita Creek near Sabanalarga. PaleoDB number 29079. Paratypes: UFP 43, 3.3 x 113.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 49, 14 x 91.4, a microspore (Pollen grain).
