Coryphaenoides amager
Taxonomy
Coryphaenoides amager was named by Schwarzhans (2003). Its type specimen is MGUH 26146, an otolith, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sundkrogen [Lellinge Greensand], which is in a Selandian marine sandstone in the Lellinge Greensand Formation of Denmark.

The anterior tip is rounded, the posterior tip is somewhat pointed; the ventral rim is distinctly pronounced anteriorly; the dorsal rim is gently curved and without a predorsal angle. The sulcus is narrow. The colliculi are small and the caudal colliculum is reduced to the posterior. The collum is narrow and without pseudocolliculum. |
