Taxonomy
Uroconger transversus was named by Sulc (1932). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Biarritz, which is in a Priabonian deep subtidal marl in France.
It was recombined as Hildebrandia transversa by Steurbaut (1984); it was recombined as Rhynchoconger transversus by Nolf and Dockery (1993).
