Siren simpsoni (Simpson's siren)
Taxonomy
Siren simpsoni was named by Goin and Auffenberg (1955) [named after Clarence Simpson of the Florida Geological Survey, not G. G. Simpson]. Its type specimen is MCZ 2284, a set of vertebrae (thoracic vertebra), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Haile 6A, which is in a Clarendonian/Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in Florida.
