Taxonomy
Cryptopterus webbi was named by Robertson (1976). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Haile XVA, which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in Florida.

It was recombined as Miopetaurista webbi by Webb et al. (2008).
