Taxonomy
Rhinellus ferox was named by Davis (1887). Its type specimen is BMNH P4851, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sahil Alma (Lewis collection), which is in a Santonian carbonate lime mudstone in Lebanon.
