Reticulophragmoides was named by Gradstein and Kaminski (1989) [Sepkoski's age data: T Than T Ol-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1051]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Alveolophragmiinae by Zili et al. (2009).
