Taxonomy
Cytheromorpha was named by Hirschmann (1909) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bajo R Sepkoski's reference number: 2]. It is extant. It is the type genus of Cytheromorphinae. It was considered unknown by Alexander (1934).

It was assigned to Cytheridae by Alexander (1934); to Cytheromorphinae by van den Bold (1965); to Loxoconchidae by Bertels (1975); to Cytherini by Hazel (1983); and to Podocopida by Sepkoski (2002).
