Chengyuchelys latimarginalis

Taxonomy
Plesiochelys latimarginalis was named by Young and Chow (1953). Its type specimen is IVPP V705, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tatienwan building foundation, Fotoukwan, which is in a Jurassic terrestrial horizon in China.

It was recombined as Xinjiangchelys latimarginalis by Sukhanov (2000), Pérez-García et al. (2008), Danilov and Parham (2008), Pérez-García and Ortega (2011), Brinkman et al. (2013), Pérez-García and Murelaga (2013), Perea et al. (2014) and Puntener et al. (2014); it was recombined as Chengyuchelys latimarginalis by Tong et al. (2012) and Chou et al. (2023).
