Scombroclupea macrophthalma

Taxonomy
Clupea macrophthalma was named by Heckel (1849). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hakel (Unger collection, Gratz), which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal carbonate in Lebanon.

It was recombined as Scombroclupea macrophthalma by Pictet and Humbert (1866), Bassani (1882), Davis (1887), Woodward (1901), Chapman (1918) and Forey et al. (2003).
