Taxonomy
Venus borealis was named by Linnaeus (1767). It is extant.

It was recombined as Lucina borealis by Linnaeus (1758), Wood (1850) and Ashley (1895); it was recombined as Lucinoma borealis by Bosselaers et al. (2004) and Schnetler and Palm (2008); it was recombined as Triodonta borealis by Kato et al. (2008); it was recombined as Lucinoma (Lucinoma) borealis by Moths et al. (2010).
