Prognathodon overtoni

Taxonomy
Brachysaurus overtoni was named by Williston (1897). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cheyenne River in Custer County, which is in a Campanian marine shale in the Pierre Shale Formation of South Dakota. It is the type species of Ancylocentrum.

It was recombined as Ancylocentrum overtoni by Schmidt (1927) and Hay (1930); it was recombined as Prognathodon overtoni by Russell (1967), Konishi et al. (2011), Fanti et al. (2014) and Driscoll et al. (2019).
