Taxonomy
Bicorbula was named by Fischer (1887) [Sepkoski's age data: K Maes R Sepkoski's reference number: 991]. It is extant. Its type is Corbula gallica.

It was reranked as Corbula (Bicorbula) by Martin (1922) and Iqbal (1973).

It was assigned to Corbula by Martin (1922) and Iqbal (1973); to Corbulinae by Vokes (1980) and Ward (1992); to Myoida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Corbulidae by Anderson and Roopnarine (2003).
