Platalearostrum hoekmani (Hoekman’s blunt-snouted dolphin)
Taxonomy
Platalearostrum hoekmani was named by Post and Kompanje (2010). Its type specimen is NMR 9991-00005362, a partial skull (partial rostrum), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is North Sea, west of Rotterdam, which is in a Pliocene/Pleistocene coastal horizon in the Netherlands. It is the type species of Platalearostrum.
