Moris lompocana

Taxonomy
Sula lompocanus was named by Miller (1925). Its type specimen is UCMP 26544, a partial skeleton (skeletal impression), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lompoc Quarry, which is in a Tortonian basinal (siliciclastic) diatomite in the Monterey Formation of California.

It was recombined as Moris lompocana by Hay (1930), Wetmore (1940) and Miller and DeMay (1942); it was corrected as Sula lompocana by Lambrecht (1933) and Howard (1972); it was recombined as Morus lompocana by Wetmore (1956) and Howard (1958); it was recombined as Morus lompocanus by Howard (1968) and Howard (1978).
