Beishanichthys brevicaudalis
Taxonomy
Beishanichthys brevicaudalis was named by Xu and Gao (2011). Its type specimen is PKUP V4881, a skeleton (laterally compressed specimen, pectoral fins missing), and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Beishan Hills, Quarry 3, Subei County, which is in an Olenekian lacustrine shale in the Hongyanjing Formation of China. It is the type species of Beishanichthys.
