Taxonomy
Calamagras angulatus was named by Cope (1873) [Probably a synonym of C. murivorus, but unsure - C. Gilmore, 1938 (14699)]. Its type specimen is AMNH No. 1654, a set of vertebrae (single vertebra), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cedar Creek, which is in an Orellan terrestrial horizon in the Brule Formation of Colorado. It is the type species of Ogmophis.
It was recombined as Ogmophis angulatus by Cope (1874), Hay (1902) and Vanzolini (1952).
