Taxonomy
Rastellum was named by Faujas-St.-Fond (1799) [Sepkoski's age data: J Call K Maes-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Oscillophini by Cooper (2002); to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Lophinae by Vokes (1980) and Mendir et al. (2021).
