Maliamia gigas
Taxonomy
Maliamia gigas was named by Patterson and Longbottom (1989). Its type specimen is BMNH P.61340, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tamaguélelt vicinity (BMNH collection), which is in a Ypresian marginal marine phosphorite in the Tamaguélelt Formation of Mali. It is the type species of Maliamia.
