Taxonomy
Xystracanthus giganteus was named by Waagen (1880). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bilot, uppermost Productus Limestone, Khisor Range, which is in a Changhsingian marine limestone in the Chhidru Formation of Pakistan.
