Sclerosaurus armatus
Taxonomy
Sclerosaurus armatus was named by von Meyer (1857). Its type specimen is a specimen in the collections of the Geologisches Institut of the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, a partial skeleton (postcrania only), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Warmbach near Rheinfelden, which is in an Aegean/Bithynian fluvial-lacustrine mudstone in the Plattensandstein/Rötton Formation of Germany.
