Globidens alabamensis

Taxonomy
Globidens alabamensis was named by Gilmore (1912). Its type specimen is USNM 6527, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bogue Chitto prairies, which is in a Campanian marginal marine chalk in the Mooreville Chalk Formation of Alabama. It is the type species of Globidens.

It was corrected as Globidens alabamaensis by Russell (1967), Thurmond (1969) and Bardet et al. (2005).
