Calcarichelys gemma
Taxonomy
Calcarichelys gemma was named by Zangerl (1953). Its type specimen is CNHM PR129, a partial skeleton, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Burkville locality, which is in a Santonian/Campanian carbonate limestone in the Mooreville Chalk Formation of Alabama. It is the type species of Calcarichelys.
