Taxonomy
Galeocerdo alabamensis was named by Leriche (1942). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Melvin, southeast of, which is in a Priabonian marginal marine mixed carbonate-siliciclastic in the Yazoo Formation of Alabama.
