Anisomyon was named by Meek and Hayden (1860) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp-l K Maes-u].

It was assigned to Basommatophora by Sepkoski (2002); and to Siphonariidae by Sohl (1964), Sohl (1967) and Bouchet et al. (2005).
