Taxonomy
Pecten scabrellus was named by Lamarck (1819) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; Europe, Pakistan]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Pecten (Aequipecten) scabrellus by Vredenburg (1928); it was recombined as Chlamys (Aequipecten) scabrella by Hassan (1953); it was recombined as Chlamys scabrellus by Iqbal (1980).
