Taxonomy
Emys marmorata was named by Baird and Girard (1852). It is extant.

It was recombined as Actinemys marmorata by Agassiz (1857), Holman and Fritz (2001) and van Dijk et al. (2014); it was recombined as Clemmys marmorata by McDowell (1964) and Bickham (1975).
