Taxonomy
Venus (Chione) temblorensis was named by Anderson (1905) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle-Late Miocene; Pacific coast, North America.]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Chione temblorensis by Arnold (1909) and Loel and Corey (1932); it was recombined as Venus temblorensis by Anderson (1911); it was recombined as Chione (Gnidiella) temblorensis by Parker (1949); it was recombined as Chione (Chionopsis) temblorensis by Adegoke (1969).
