Rhynchosauroides articeps

Taxonomy
Rhynchosaurus articeps was named by Owen (1842). Its type specimen is SHRBM G132/1982 (lectotype, designated by Benton, 1990), a partial skull (nearly complete skull and mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Grinshill quarries, which is in an Anisian paralic sandstone/sandstone in the Tarporley Siltstone Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Rhynchosauroides articeps by Demathieu and Haubold (1972) and Tresise (2003).
