Protopteryx fengningensis

Taxonomy
Protopteryx fengningensis was named by Zhang and Zhou (2000). Its type specimen is IVPP V 11665, a skeleton (nearly complete articulated skeleton with feathers), and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Fengning County [general], which is in a Hauterivian lacustrine siltstone in the Huajiying Formation of China.

Second phalanx of minor digit small and triangular in shape. Coracoid with small procoracoid process; lateral process of coracoid prominent. Interclavicular angle 50°; hypocleideum about half the length of the clavicular ramus.
