Taxonomy
Aucella marshalli was named by Trechmann (1923) [TYPE LOCALITY: Nugget Point, Otago (Uruoan: Pliensbachian-Toarcian). TYPE REPOSITORY: BMNH].

It was recombined as Pseudaucella marshalli by Marwick (1926), Speden (1979).
