Dracopelta zbyszewskii

Taxonomy
Dracopelta zbyszewskii was named by Galton (1980). Its type specimen is MIGM 5787, a set of postcrania, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Praia do Sul, Assenta, which is in a Tithonian fluvial-deltaic sandstone in the Freixial Formation of Portugal. It was considered monophyletic by Vickaryous et al. (2004).

It was considered a nomen dubium by Carpenter (2001).

Galton 1983Dermal armor of the thoracic region consists of very small isolated flat scutes, small medial paired circular plates with raised centers and rims, very long anterolateral plates, narrow nonprojecting overlapping dorsolateral plates and overlapping laterally projecting and dorsoventrally compressed lateral plates with a sinusoidal proximal surface and a circular outline laterally.
