It was assigned to Pholadomyacea by Newell (1965), Vokes (1980); to Pholadomyoida by Aberhan (2004), Scholz et al. (2008); to Pleuromyoidea by Nevesskaja (2009), Carter et al. (2011); and to Ceratomyoidea by Bouchet et al. (2010), Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
