Bourdotia was named by Dall (1901) [m. kosnik taxon no: 9569]. Its type is Lucina bourdoti.

It was synonymized subjectively with Boeuvia by Cox et al. (1969).

It was assigned to Divaricellinae by Vokes (1980).
