Taxonomy
Cretochirus elongatus was named by Yamamoto (2025). Its type specimen is SEHU-0000121243, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber, Hkamti amber (Hokkaido University SEHU collection), which is in an Albian terrestrial amber in Myanmar.
