Paradoxides oelandicus was named by Sjögren (1872). It is the type species of Acadoparadoxides (Baltoparadoxides).
It was recombined as Acadoparadoxides (Baltoparadoxides) oelandicus by Šnajdr (1986); it was recombined as Eccaparadoxides oelandicus by Bengtson and Urbanek (1986); it was recombined as Baltoparadoxides oelandicus by Jell and Adrain (2002).
