Taxonomy
Spisula twinensis was named by Clark (1925). Its type specimen is LSJU 57 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is SUNP #120 - Twin Rivers (Blakeley Formation), which is in a Chattian coastal sandstone in the Blakeley Formation of Washington.
