Taxonomy
Burmathrips engeli was named by Peña-Kairath et al. (2024). Its type specimen is MGB 95344.1, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber (MGB coll), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar. It is the type species of Burmathrips.
