Taxonomy
Dhosaites grayi was named by Spath (1928). It is not extant. It is the type species of Prograyiceras.

It was recombined as Prograyiceras grayi by Spath (1928); it was recombined as Paryphoceras grayi by Howarth (1998).

Synonyms
  • Stephanoceras nepalense was named by Waagen (1875) [Amonites nepalense is a nomen dubium. Waagen 1875 described a separate taxa as a junior homonym. Spath renamed this taxa as Stephanoceras grayi.].

    It was replaced with Dhosaites grayi by Spath (1928).
