Tetrarca washingtoniana

Taxonomy
Arca washingtoniana was named by Dickerson (1917). Its type specimen is CAS 382 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 181, Cowlitz River, 4mi E. of Vader, which is in an Eocene coastal sandstone/conglomerate in Washington.

It was recombined as Arca (Arca) washingtoniana by Reinhart (1943); it was recombined as Tetrarca washingtoniana by Vermeij and Amano (2021).

Synonyms
  • Barbatia merriami was named by Van Winkle (1918). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UW 364, which is in an Oligocene marine horizon in Washington.

    It was recombined as Arca merriami by Clark (1925); it was synonymized subjectively with Arca (Arca) washingtoniana by Reinhart (1943).
