Taxonomy
Vietocycla katyae was named by Fu and Huang (2019). Its type specimen is NIGP169636, a tegmen, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Lushangfen village, Fangshan District (NIGP collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine mudstone in the Lushangfen Formation of China.
