Taxonomy
Desyopone hereon was named by Boudinot and Perrichot (2022). Its type specimen is MAIG 6016, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Ethiopian amber (MAIG collection), which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Ethiopia. It is the type species of Desyopone.
