Cobboldites itsariensis was named by Geyer (1988) [Cobboldites ? itsariensis]. Its type specimen is SMF 41672a, a cephalon/head, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Horizon 397, Itsiar, Jbel Wawrmast Form., Morocco - Geyer and Mergl 1997, which is in the Solvan of wackestone the Jbel Wawrmast Formation Morocco.
