Ochrilidiae was named by Brunner von Wattenwyl (1893). It is extant. Its type is Ochrilidia.

It was corrected as Ochrilidini by Garai (2010); it was corrected as Ochrilidiini by Chapco and Contreras (2011), Storozhenko et al. (2015).

It was assigned to Gomphocerinae by Garai (2010), Chapco and Contreras (2011); and to Acridinae by Storozhenko et al. (2015).
