Dikelocephalus belli was named by Billings (1860). Its type specimen is Nat. Mus. Canada, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Anomocarella belli by Walcott (1914); it was recombined as Richardsonella belli by Raymond (1924); it was recombined as Loganellus belli by Rasetti (1944).
