Synonyms

Cerithiopsis (Cerithiopsis) fatua was named by Bartsch (1911). Its type specimen is USNM 195194, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Deadman Island area - Lower San Pedro Series (1900s-1950s) [San Pedro Sand], which is in a Pleistocene coastal sandstone in the San Pedro Sand Formation of California.

It was recombined as Cerithiopsis pedroana fatua by Woodring (1946); it was synonymized subjectively with Cerithiopsis stejnegeri by Hendy (2021).
Cerithiopsis paramoea was named by Bartsch (1911). It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Cerithiopsis stejnegeri by Hendy (2021).
