Taxonomy
Warburgella rotundata was named by Begg (1939). Its type specimen is BG. 9323 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ladyburn River, Starfish Bed, Bed No. 2, which is in a Rawtheyan marine limestone in the South Threave Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Cyphoproetus rotundata by Owens (1971).
