Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
E. Puértolas-Pascual et al. 2021lesiopharos moelensis gen. et sp. nov. is a plesiosaur diagnosed by the following autapomorphies: il- iac blade with rounded and convex anterior flank and less expanded than the posterior flank; ischial facet of the ilium highly developed and twice as long as the acetabular facet; first pectoral vertebra with the apex of the neural spine in- clined posterodorsally and forming a small rounded tip at the posterodorsal margin. For the exclusive combination of synapomorphies see phylogenetic analysis section.
